Global Textures and the Formation of Self-Bound Gravitational Systems

چکیده
Using a Newtonian approximation we developed a quantitative criterion for the collapse of a spherical distribution of matter under an isolated texture field. In particular, we found the evolution of an overdense region is strongly determined by two parameters: the energy scale of symmetry breaking (η) and the initial radius of the system. Applying our collapse criterion to typical galaxy scales we verified the formation of 1011M⊙ objects at z <∼ 9 and 10 12M⊙ objects at z <∼ 5.

An ansatz for spacetimes of zero gravitational mass : global monopoles and textures
We propose a geometric ansatz, a restriction on Euclidean / Minkowski distance in the embedding space being propotional to distance in the embedded space, to generate spacetimes with vanishing gravitational mass (Riku iuk = 0, uiu i = 1). It turns out that these spacetimes can represent global monopoles and textures. Thus the ansatz is a prescription to generate zero mass spacetimes that could ...
متن کاملA stochastic model for the cell formation problem considering machine reliability
This paper presents a new mathematical model to solve cell formation problem in cellular manufacturing systems, where inter-arrival time, processing time, and machine breakdown time are probabilistic. The objective function maximizes the number of operations of each part with more arrival rate within one cell. Because a queue behind each machine; queuing theory is used to formulate the model. T...

Introduction: The need for global health training for early-career family medicine physicians is greater than the supply. This paper details the formation of a one-year, self-funded global health fellowship for early-career family medicine physicians. Methods: In August of 2012, the University of Washington Department of Family Medicine established a self...
متن کاملEvolution of thin-wall configurations of texture matter
We consider the free matter of global textures within the framework of the perfect fluid approximation in general relativity. We examine thermodynamical properties of texture matter in comparison with radiation fluid and bubble matter. Then we study dynamics of thin-wall selfgravitating texture objects, and show that classical motion can be elliptical (finite), parabolical or hyperbolical. It i...

Gravitational waves are considered in thermal vacuum state. The amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves are found enhanced in thermal vacuum state compared to its zero temperature counterpart. Therefore, the allowed amount of enhancement depends on the upper bound of WMAP-5 and WMAP-7 for the amplitude and spectral energy density of gravitational waves. The enhancement of ...
